Ohio receives accolades from Site Selection

Ohio’s improving business climate scored another accolade.

Site Selection magazine awarded Ohio a 3rd place position in gauging states’ economic development competitiveness.

Ohio was behind Virginia and Texas. Louisiana and North Carolina were also in the top five. All states except North Carolina have Republican governors. All states except Ohio are right-to-work states. In 2011, Ohio was ranked 10th.

Site Selection uses a database for its 10-factor index for new and expanded facilities. In March, the group awarded Ohio its 2011 Governor’s Cup for the state with the most new and expanded corporate facilities. The magazine credited JobsOhio, the development group created by Gov Kasich, as a driver of the growth.
