I hadn’t been to the shooting range for 3 weeks so decided I’d better practice. Besides it was a dreary afternoon so might as well spend it doing something fun. I practiced putting into play some new things I learned during the 8-hour CCW class. Changed my stance to the defense mode and kept both eyes open. Our instructor told us to aim for center mass (versus the bullseye as in target shooting) and to line up the end of the gun to the center mass area with BOTH eyes. This allows you to keep peripheral vision during a stress event.
I continue to be amazed at the number of “senior” women who are learning how to shoot. Both my “Beginner’s Handgun” and “Concealed Carry” classes (which were full) had half the class with women over 60. It’s a sign of the times!!
