South Korea is well known to favor dog meat in their meals. There are several really heart-breaking videos of them storing the dogs tightly in crates, then beating them to death before butchering them. Several humane groups in Western countries have pressured to stop the gruesome practice with little success. With the upcoming Olympics, the Officials have strongly encouraged restaurants to NOT serve dog meat to avoid offending countries who find this “food” repulsive. They’re meeting with resistance.

As a life-long avid dog lover, I find this practice abhorrent!!!!!!!
The neighborhoods are looking so pretty with all the Christmas decorations on or around their homes. One of my neighbors put all their decorations up on weekend in November when it was 70°. They were smart. I was still mowing my lawn when they did it. I finally put mine up when it was in the 40’s so it wasn’t too bad. Mother Nature added her touch to the lights to make it extra pretty.
I went to Meijers store to buy additional lights. While there I saw a new display that I actually HAD TO HAVE! It’s two dachshunds and it’s Murph approved. The only thing missing is the barking that doxies are known to carry to excess.
The best part of Christmas this year is that we are free to say …
My little guy had a birthday today. It’s his 12th! He’s now an “old man” but that’s OK since we’ve grown old together. 🙂 Over the years he’s never lost that “little man attitude”. He still thinks he tough stuff!
The Murph is happiest when he is with me. Most dogs are like that – they want to be with their humans. Last year I bought a trail camera to record the antics of the midnight raiders – the raccoons. This week I decided to set it up when I had to leave for a meeting. I was gone for close to 3 hours. Murph basically did 3 things the ENTIRE TIME: 1) watched out the window 2) checked the front door 3) howled – which really made me feel guilty! This video isn’t 3 hours long, but edited only to show examples of his behavior.
And to think I thought he probably just slept. Oh well …
Like many dogs, Murphy loves to play in the leaves. He always reminds me of a “where’s Waldo” picture because his coat matches the leaves.
We’re a Duck Dynasty home, so Murph had to have the Uncle Si version of a duck. He loves it but as he always does with toys, the face and stuffing is gone!
