Columbus’ Business First had a link to a report on Safe Places to Live in Ohio. Although none of Central Ohio’s communities made the Top 20, three were between 20-25. Powell was ranked 21, Marysville ranked 23 and Dublin ranked 25. Upper Arlington ranked 31.
“In terms of feeling secure, Ohio’s crime rate is significantly lower than the national average. Between 2013 and 2014, both violent and property crime rates declined with some of the steepest drops occurring in the robbery and burglary categories.”
The article said that Ohio’s Crime Rate is significantly lower than the National Average. Although not mentioned in the article, I wonder if Ohio’s open-carry law and the popularity of concealed carry licenses is due somewhat to lower crime rates.

American City Business Journals, a parent to Columbus Business First, compiled a list of the richest communities. In Ohio, New Albany came in 2nd, Powell is #11, and Dublin is #13. Indian Hill, a suburb of Cincinnati, was #1.
The measurement was the percentage of the population with household incomes over $150,000. Just under half of New Albany’s households have household incomes over that amount. Powell had 36% of households earning over $150,000 and Dublin had 35%.

worked at the New England Homes model this afternoon at the Parade of Homes in Dublin. There were many people who walked through, often saying that it was their favorite model. I took photos of some of the models as well as a portion of the interior of the New England model.
This year’s parade included 11 homes. The styles are unique in that the Parade site developer requested that the homes resemble styles from the late 1700’s to early 1900’s. Many of them have been designed to look like the original home has been “added onto” with them being much deeper than they are wide. Several of the homes are already sold, but I’m 100% sure that if you want one, the builders will gladly build YOU a new one. 🙂
