Gov Kasich Shows His Compassion

Did you see the touching moment of Gov John Kasich and the young man during a town hall at Clemson University? The media hasn’t been covering it as much as they do when candidates mess up. They prefer blowing negatives out of proportion so “nice” moments don’t fit that narrative.

Compared to all the candidates in the Presidential race, Gov Kasich is the “quiet, nice guy”. He cares for people, and has been criticized for that characteristic when he used Medicaid to care for poor people, homeless and drug users. Gov Kasich has often spoke of the dark place he went into after his parents were killed by a drunk driver. He struggled with questions on his faith. This young man has had similar recent travails. This brief video illustrates that compassion.

Gov John Kasich speaks at Faith & Freedom Coalition

Our Governor, John Kasich, was one of the 2016 Presidential speakers at the Faith and Freedom Coalition in DC. I think most of us in Ohio are aware of Gov Kasich’s Christian belief. Taking care of the poor played into his decision to extend Medicaid portion of ObamaCare – even though he has been criticized for this action. As always, the Gov doesn’t use a prompter, but speaks what he believes. This speech was particularly good! I highly recommend you watch this video and see what really drives this man.

GOP Presidential Candidates – Update

There have been a few updates since I last posted the list of GOP potential candidates. Most recently Mitt Romney announced that he will not run. His absence is said to be a benefit to other establishment “RINO” candidates like Jeb and Christie.

I’m reading on Twitter that more and more people are saying we really need a Governor since under Obama the country is in such a mess. We need someone with a proven track record of managing a state – a mini-country. While some of the Senators are ‘exciting’, Senators don’t have the experience … as we’ve learned with Obama.

Scott Walker, Wisconsin Governor, recently excelled in Iowa, leading the list of contenders. Also being mentioned as other Conservative Governors are John Kasich, Ohio Governor, and Rick Perry, recent Texas Governor.

One thing is sure so far, the GOP has a deep bench of strong candidates. The Dems only have Hillary, with lots of “baggage” and maybe our favorite comedian, Joe Biden.

2016 GOP Presidential Candidates

Are we ready for the 2016 political games to begin? The GOP has many qualified potential candidates being discussed. The initial disagreement will be candidates from “The Establishment RINOS” vs the conservative side of the party.  The conservatives point out that the last two elections offered up moderate or RINO candidates – and they lost!

One subject that may be debated is the citizenship qualification to be President. Obama’s birth certificate has never been verified nor whether his Indonesian citizenship was revoked, leading people to question his seemingly anti-American position in many of his desired policies. That citizenship qualification is certain to be debated for Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Bobby Jindal. They all have parents that were born in other countries, leading questions to their total allegiance to America even though they are U.S. citizens.

  • Ted Cruz was born in Canada but has/had dual citizenship since his mother was born in U.S. His father was born in Cuba. Earlier this year, Ted gave up his Canadian citizenship.
  • Marco Rubio was born here, but both parents were born in Cuba.
  • Bobby Jindal was born here, but both parents were born in India.

After Obama’s weak background of no management experience, many people are saying we need to elect a Governor to get us out of the mess we’re in. Governors in effect run small countries and must negotiate well with both parties in order to balance budgets – a requirement for the states. We need their executive experience, plus it’s very easy to check their record for success or failure. Much of the credit Obama takes for jobs and unemployment rate, came as a result of hard-working GOP Governors such as Rick Perry, John Kasich and Scott Walker.

I prepared this graphic to illustrate the differences/similarities of the people that “may” be considering a presidential run. Eventually I can “x-out” names as they go away or implode between now and 2016.

Gov Kasich speaks at Powell rally

Gov John KasichYesterday I attended a Kasich/Taylor rally at the GOP office in Powell. It was a gorgeous fall afternoon so there was good crowd ready to listen to Gov Kasich speak to us. I like listening to him as he speaks totally off-the-cuff … no notes … and no stammering like the guy in the Oval Office.

We were given tickets to attend another rally this coming Sat (Nov 1) at OSU Airport. Gov Chris Christie (NJ) will be here to campaign with Gov Kasich plus other GOP leaders. The doors open at 9:45am with the event beginning at 10:15am.

When you vote, be sure to watch for fraud and report it if you do. Already machines in Chicago were found to be switching Republican votes to Democrat votes. Make sure your electronic machine is recording your vote correctly!

2014 Election is coming …

John Kasich yard sign
It’s that time of year when political yard signs are popping up all over. I recently picked up my sign from the GOP office in Powell. Governor Kasich should have an easy time this election because the Democratic candidate has imploded due to unvetted personal problems. When his “issues” were learned, it was too late for them to replace him so they’re stuck. Even his aides left him.

Be sure to vote November 4!
